Summer Palace Ring (Sakura Spring)

  • $50.00

Vibrant pinks, blues and whites make this washi a fun and summery eye-catcher. I found it in the enormous collection at the Washi Museum in Tokyo and I couldn't resist it!

I have used it for my Summer Palace form, based on two cubes slotted together. It creates some really interesting geometric patterns, and at the right angle, the interconnecting cubes can be seen. It was one of my first forms, and took quite a while to perfect, even though it is deceptively simple.

I like the voluminous cube as a ring as it stands out so much. The washi makes it look so delicate, but as you can see from the Creation Process section, it is actually incredibly strong!

The ring is an adjustable size so you don't need to sneak about finding out your friend's ring size. That would be weird.

Each piece comes in their own matching gift box so you don't even need to wrap it before giving it to someone you love, or you could keep the box for easy storage.
