Jade Blossom Ring (Black and Gold)
I found this gold washi in a shop in Tokyo, I really liked the shimmering gold rectangles blocked on the black. It created such a cool contemporary pattern on such a traditional material. Perfect for my geometric tastes!
For this ring I teamed it with an intriguingly textured black, to make the gold shine out even more.
This ring is created from 10 pieces of washi, combined into a spiky cube. I think it looks like a little crown on your finger!
Rings need to be especially hard wearing as we use our hands all the time, and bang and bump into things. We don't want to have to limit our movements because we have a fragile piece of art on our fingers.
You could do someone some serious damage with this ring! Check out the Creative Process and About Washi sections to learn how I make these so strong. It wouldn't be a good idea to do the washing up in them, but an occasional splash or rain is fine!
The ring is an adjustable size so that you can safely offer it as a gift. They even come in their own matching gift box!
The Jade Blossom range also includes necklaces and earrings, you could get a full set for a special occasion or a special someone.
